Rift Classes Guide | Rift Planes of Telara Classes
This Rift Classes Guide will help you better understand how the class system works in Rift and how to choose your Rift class. The basic four classes in Rift aren’t unique in the MMORPG world these classes represent the very basics Warrior, Cleric, Rouge, Mage. Once you have chosen your main class you can then choose between nine souls to take your talents from. These souls are separate trees which will refine your class.
You may gather all the souls through quests but you may only have three active at anyone time. Eight of these nine souls are for PvE play and the ninth is for PvP. additionally you can choose up to four specs but can only have one active at a time. This makes it really easy to test DPS, Tanking, and PvP specs without having to spend a ton of gold.
If you are choosing your Rift Class use the following Rift Classes Guide to pick a class which fits your play style. If you should change your mind on what your role will be in Rift, remember you can always change-up your souls for a new play style. Keep in mind this is only the Rift Planes of Telara Classes. Warrior ClassThe warrior class is one of the classic RPG classes. The warrior class is known for its ability to take massive damage with their plat armor and shield wield abilities. They have also been known to deal a great deal of damage. The warrior’s weapons be it a two-handed or duel wielding are a warriors life line. They not only cause damage but they also help generate threats. Two things the warrior class in Rift is not known for is their ability to cast damaging spells or their agility. While warriors tend to deal heavy blows they aren’t too quick at it. The warrior also needs to think about healing him/herself in a group a good cleric class can often be the lifeline for a warrior.

Mage ClassYour basic casting and damage dealing class is the Mage. This is a great class if you want to deal ton of damage quickly regardless of the souls you choose. Rift Mages deal their damage from a distance and get many spells to avoid getting close to a creature. This is because they are only able to wear cloth armor and hits land heavy on them. If you are thinking about duoing with a Mage in rift you might think about getting together with another Mage.

Rogue ClassThe rogue class covers a great deal of scouting classes. Bards, rangers, and swashbucklers are all covered under the rogue heading. Rift Rogues wear leather armor so they are better at tacking damage than the mage but not as good as a warrior. They prefer this type of armor because it allows them to move around more quickly. While each of a rogue’s strikes may do damage the sheer quickness of each blow is usually what does the most damage for the Rogue. Because of the Rogue’s decreased ability to take damage many of their souls afford them abilities to hunt at a distance. Many Rift Rogues prefer these souls while leveling up.

Cleric ClassThe cleric class has made various pacts with elementals and spirits to gain a number of support and healing spell magic. The cleric is truly built to be a support class but is also very easy to level up. If you like to play in a group environment you will enjoy playing a cleric thoroughly as they are always in high demand for dungeon crawls. If you have a warrior friend you are in even better luck. By choosing a few healing spec souls you can easily create a powerful duo group. Choosing souls which give you great healing powers will also limit your armor choices down to cloth. Some clerics have chosen to go a more battle ready type soul combination which affords them the ability to wield powerful weapons and chain armor.
