Mining is one three gathering professions available in Rift. The other two gathering professions are Butchering and Foraging. What exactly is Mining? Mining is the process of harvesting Mineral Nodes throughout the Rift world of Telara. A mineral node will contain either an Ore or a Gem. Artificer, Weaponsmith, and Armorsmith pair well with Mining.

When you first train for Foraging. You will gain two new skills. Track Ore and Mining. Track Ore is pretty simple. It will indicate on your mini-map where a Mineral node is when you are near it. The Mining Skill is what you will use to harvest the mineral node. If your Mining skill level is not high enough to harvest, the Text of the name of mineral will be in red.

You will need to be near a Forge in order to make the mineral ores you gather into metal bars for crafting. These will often be found near a Mining Trainer. If you harvested a Gem, simply open it to collect the Gem. A Gem will contain one of two different options.

But this Rift Mining Guide will show you fastest way to level from 1-300 for both Guardians and Defiants. Once you are out of the starting area you will be able to train for your professions.

Rift Mining Guide: Novice Skill Level 1-75

Skill level 1 – 35

Tin Lode – Found throughout Freemarch and Silverwood. You will get either Tin Ore or Fieldstone. Fieldstone will yield either a Moonstone or a Sunstone.

You will need to gather about 50 materials to reach 35.

Skill level 36 – 75

Copper Vein – Found throughout Freemarch, Silverwood, Gloamwood and Stonefield. You will get either Copper Ore or Opal. Opal will yield either a Shimmering Opal or a Abyssal Opal.

You will need to gather about 60 materials to reach 75.

Rift Mining Guide: Skilled Skill Level 75-150

Skill level 76 – 115

Iron Vein – Found throughout Stonefield, Gloamwood, and Scarlet Gorge. You will get either Iron Ore or Geode. Geode will yield either a Celestite or a Heartstone.

Silver Vein (requires Skill level 80) – Found throughout Stonefield, Gloamwood, Scarlet Gorge, and Scarwood reach.

You will get either Silver Ore, Geode or Beryl. Beryl will yield either a Blood Berylite or a Radiant Emerald.

**Silver Vein is a rare spawn and can spawn anywhere Iron or Chromite spawn.

You willneed about 80 material to get up to 115.

Skill Level 115 – 145

Chromite Vein – Found throughout Scarlet Gorge, and Scarwood reach. You will get either Chromite Ore or Beryl. Beryl will yield either a Blood Berylite or a Radiant Emerald.

You will need about 70 materials to reach 145.

Skill Level 145 – 150

Cobalt Lode – Found throughout Scarwood Reach, Moonshade Highlands, and the Droughtlands. You will get either Cobalt Ore or Agate. Agate will yield either a Valeglass Agate or a Skystone Agate.

You will need a few to reach 150, then head back to the Mining Trainer (for Expert training) in either Sanctum or Meridian and come back.

Rift Mining Guide: Expert Skill Level 150 – 225

Skill level 150 – 185

Cobalt Lode – Found throughout Scarwood Reach, Moonshade Highlands, and the Droughtlands. You will get either Cobalt Ore or Agate. Agate will yield either a Valeglass Agate or a Skystone Agate.

Gold Vein – Found throughout Scarwood Reach, the Droughtlands, and Shimmersand. You will get either Gold Ore, Agate, or Corundum. Corundum will yield either a Sapphire or Ruby.

**Gold Vein is a rare spawn and can spawn anywhere Cobalt and Titanium spawn.

You will need about 90 materials to reach 185.

Skill level 185 – 225

Titanium Vein – Found throughout the Droughtlands, Shimmersand, Moonshade Highlands, Stillmoor, and Iron Pine Peak. You will get either Titanium Ore or Corundum. Corundum will yield either a Sapphire or Ruby.

You will need about 85 materials to reach 225.

Rift Mining Guide: Master Skill Level 225 – 300

Skill level 225 – 250

Carmintium Deposit – Found throughout Iron Pine Peak, Stillmoor, and Shimmersand. Also found in the level 50 instances Charmer’s Caldera, and Abyssal Precipice (Normal and Expert difficulties). You will get either Carmintium Ore or Diamond. Diamond will yield either a Brilliant Diamond or a Lightsbane Diamond.

Platinum Deposit – Found throughout Iron Pine Peak, Stillmoor, and Shimmersand. Also found in the level 50 instances Charmer’s Caldera, and Abyssal Precipice (Normal and Expert difficulties). You will get either Platinum Ore, Diamond, or Lightspar Agate. Lightspar Agate will yield either a Smooth Lightstone or a Jagged Lightstone.

**Platinum Deposit is a rare spawn and can spawn anywhere Carmintium and Orichalcum spawn.

You will need about 70 materials to reach 250.

Skill level 250 – 300

Orichalcum Deposit – Found throughout Iron Pine Peak, Stillmoor, and Shimmersand. Also found in the level 50 instances Charmer’s Caldera, and Abyssal Precipice (Normal and Expert difficulties). You will get either Orichalcum Ore or Lightspar Agate. Lightspar Agate will yield either a Smooth Lightstone or a Jagged Lightstone.

You will need about 120 materials to reach 300.
